Mayur Nallamala

Mayur Nallamala

Head of Asian Equities, Senior Portfolio Manager

Mayur is a Senior Portfolio Manager and the Head of Asian Equities. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2013, Mayur was a Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong where he was responsible for Asia Pacific ex-Japan mandates managing assets on behalf of sovereign wealth, institutional and retail clients around the world. Mayur began his career in the investment industry in 1998, and has also spent time working at Chase Futures & Options in London and at ABN AMRO in Hong Kong.

Mayur holds a BSc from the London School of Economics.


Derek Au, CPA, CA

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

Derek is an Analyst for the RBC Asian Equity team and is focused on Asian technology, industrials and Vietnam. Derek joined RBC in 2012 as part of a two year rotational programme which allowed him to work in a variety of roles within RBC’s Asset Management and Wealth Management businesses in Toronto and Hong Kong. This included assignments with the Fixed Income Advisory and Trading Group as well as RBC Global Asset Management’s Canadian Equity and Asian Equity teams. Prior to joining RBC, Derek was a Manager of Assurance Services at Ernst & Young where he was responsible for the financial advisory and audit of publicly-listed corporations in Toronto.

Derek holds a MAcc from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and is a Chartered Accountant.


Siguo Chen

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

Siguo is an Analyst for the RBC Asian Equity team, focused on China. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2017, she spent five years as a Research Analyst at UBS Hong Kong, covering H-Share Consumer Stocks and Hong Kong strategy. Siguo began her career in finance as an Equity Derivatives Structuring Intern at Credit Suisse in 2010.

Siguo holds an MSc in Finance from HEC Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Applied Mathematics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.


Elma de Kuiper

Elma de Kuiper

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

Elma is an Analyst on the RBC Asian Equity team, based in Sydney, and is focused on the Australia and New Zealand markets. Elma joined RBC Global Asset Management in 2012 to form part of the European Equities team in London where she was researching and investing in companies from all sectors across Europe, and in 2016 transferred to the Asian Equities team in Hong Kong.

Elma holds an MSc in Econometrics and a BSc in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute™. Elma speaks five languages.


Maya Funaki

Analyst, RBC Japan Equity

Maya is an Analyst for the RBC Asia Equity team, focused on the Japanese market. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2015, Maya was an Analyst in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division covering Japanese Equity and has worked in the financial industry since 2011.

Maya graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Financial Economics from Columbia University.


David Huo, CFA

Senior Analyst

David is an Analyst for the RBC Asian Equity team and is focused on Asian technology, telecommunications and utilities. David joined RBC Global Asset Management (previously Royal Bank Investment Management) in 1993 and has worked in a variety of roles from Research Analyst to Director of Global Equity Research (RT Global Investment Management) and Senior Portfolio Manager of RBC Asian Equity.

David holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Suzhou University. David is a CFA charterholder.


Tomonori Kaneko

Senior Portfolio Manager, Head of RBC Japanese Equity

Tomonori is Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of RBC Japanese Equity. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2014, Tomonori was a Junior Portfolio Manager for Marshall Wace GaveKal for Japanese Equity focused strategies and a Senior Analyst at Perry Capital. In a career dating back to 2003 Tomonori spent time in distressed debt investment at Lone Star Group.

Tomonori holds a BSc in Bioengineering from the University of California, and a Masters in Bioscience from the University of Tokyo.


Chris Lai

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

Chris is an Analyst for the RBC Asian Equity team focusing on Asian financials. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2015, Chris was a sell-side equity Analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch based in Hong Kong where he specialised in the financial sector across the Asia ex-Japan region. Previous experience includes time at HSBC in both sales and risk management roles.

Chris holds an MBA from the London Business School and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Chris is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute.


Owen Ou

Portfolio Engineer, RBC Asian Equity

Owen is a Portfolio Engineer for the RBC Asian Equity team, focused on portfolio construction and risk analysis. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2018, Owen was an Analytics Consultant at FactSet, specialising in quantitative modelling and portfolio analytics.

Owen holds a BEng in Civil Engineering and a BBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.


David Soh

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

David is an Analyst and Quant Specialist for the RBC Asian Equity team and is focused primarily on the Asian consumer sector. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2014, David worked at Credit Suisse, specialising in quantitative investment strategies for Asia ex-Japan equities. David started his professional career as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company in 2005. He also served as a Defence Intelligence Specialist in the Korean military.

David holds an MSc in Investment Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Korea University.


Tracey Wood

Analyst, RBC Asian Equity

Tracey is an Analyst for the RBC Asian Equity team focused on the Asia Pacific energy, material and health care sectors. Prior to joining RBC Global Asset Management in 2015, Tracey was an Analyst at Merricks Capital in Melbourne, Australia, where she specialised in energy and utilities investments in Asia Pacific. Previous experience includes two years specialising in bulk materials investments in China and Central Asia based in Beijing, China.

Tracey holds a BSBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Arizona.
